Agulha (portuguese word for needle) is a bar/music venue that was born out of the desire to offer a space for independent music in Porto Alegre. Designed to host shows, fairs, exhibitions and artistic interventions, it serves as a support point for people looking for new things in the city's cultural scene, with an aesthetic concept that mixes the Berlin night with a grandmother's house, composed of various furniture and antique objects in contrast to the raw structure of an industrial warehouse.
The needle is a piercing instrument capable of joining different materials or simply marking the tissue through which it passes. It carries in its meaning the central objective of the space: to reduce the distance between people of different groups, ages, identities and contexts. In other words, it seeks to burst these different "bubbles" that usually co-exist in a disconnected way. We developed a visual identity that represented these forms at their point of opening/breaking. An analogy to the bar's action, which brings together a varied public and leaves a mark on the 4th District of Porto Alegre.
