How many packages have you opened and thrown away today?

Using the language of art exhibitions in museums, we took to Rua Irmão José Otão in Bairro Bom Fim, in 2017, and to Rua Duque de Caxias in the Centro Histórico neighborhood, in 2019, both in Porto Alegre, a small exhibition of  the most enduring "artwork" in the universe: the plastic waste we consume daily. Virtually all of the plastic produced in history is still on the planet and all the people who are alive today will die and decompose before the pieces in this exhibition.

We often don't think about the consequences of the disposable lifestyle we lead. Even though most polymeric materials - such "plastics" - can be recycled, this is not the reality. In Brazil, only 15% of plastics are actually recycled and 52.8% of solid urban waste is incorrectly disposed of and ends up in landfills, oceans and rivers (IPEA - Institute of Applied Economic Research, 2010).
We invite you to reflect on the theme and take action based on our individual responsibilities. The project for the "Most Enduring Exhibition in the Universe" also unfolds on a Tumblr page where news and other relevant material on the topic are shared.

Inspired, who would guess, in the trash, we decided to try something different in the development of the exhibition logo. The different prints were kneaded, a step almost always present in our ritual of throwing paper out. When we unpacked the papers, voilà, we had our logo.

Taking advantage of the trip of one of the members of Brio, we decided to replicate the action "Bonus Exhibition" by Caio Andrade to take The most enduring exhibition in the universe to the place it deserves: great museums like The MET, MoMA and Guggenhein, in New York, expanding thus the reach of the message.

In the second edition, in 2019, we also added the piece "Lactovacilos" - Polypropylene on paper.
