The floods in Rio Grande do Sul had a huge impact on the economy of Rio Grande do Sul (RS), closing companies, destroying equipment and canceling contracts and projects that were about to happen. Contrate RS was created to support the state's cultural, technological and creative industries, creating a digital showcase for companies and freelancers that need to be hired. Built with the collective effort of independent professionals, it is a call for companies and contractors from places that were not affected to get to know local talent, seeking to help in the recovery of the state's economy and collaborate so that the people of Rio Grande do Sul can get back on their feet as soon as possible.

The Contrate RS identity was developed with two main goals in mind: promoting professionals from the state and establishing a safe environment for potential connections. The project avoided regional stereotypes of Rio Grande do Sul, using a palette based on the colors of the state flag with illustrations that promote identification with different audiences, while the platform was structured with an emphasis on simplicity and accessibility, especially considering the emergency context of climate refugees. The name of the project is also a call to action, combining the verb hire (contrate) and the state's acronym, with the website link hidden on the logo through the flag's circle.
The registration and search system on the platform were optimized to facilitate access via mobile devices, allowing agile connections between parties and guaranteeing the veracity of information through CNPJ verification, the Brazilian National Registry of Legal Entities.

Amidst the chaos caused by the floods, Contrate RS became a support point, raising hopes for economic recovery and representing a potential new beginning amidst all the tragedy, quickly reaching more than 300 registered companies and independent professionals. The platform gained broad spontaneous media coverage in media outlets in Rio Grande do Sul and other states, and through partnerships with influencers, it organically reached more than 1 million and 350 thousand people on social media, helping to amplify the message beyond the local context of those affected.
